RICHARLISON is aiming to cut the mustard against Crystal Palace today – after growing his hair like his Brazilian idol Ronaldo in the 2002 World Cup.

Sadly for Everton fans, the Toffees’ striker took the clippers to his hair – and will be sporting new locks at Goodison today, as Carlo Ancelotti’s stars aim to end their dismal home form.

Brazil striker Richarlison said: “My idol is Ronaldo (below) and I actually had his World Cup 2002 haircut up until a few days ago.

“It’s because he was so important during my childhood, my father was also a big fan of his so me and my dad would watch him together on TV.

“I was in awe of Ronaldo Fenomeno’s football and what inspired me most of all was his goal against Germany in the 2002 World Cup final.”

Richarlison has scored 12 goals himself this season and is aiming to secure a place in Europe after admitting he fulfilled a boyhood dream by becoming a famous footballer.

“I could never have imagined it! It’s a moment of such pride and joy for me and my family,” said the former Watford star, who arrived at

Goodison Park three years ago in a

£40million deal.

“I feel so proud when I’m on the way to the ground and I see someone in a Richarlison shirt or holding a scarf with my name on it. Ever since I was little I dreamt of being a footballer but I never dreamt of getting as far as I have, playing in the Premier League.

“And these days in Brazil I’m no longer just Richarlison, I’m Richarlison from the national team.

“I think everything’s in place for me to become an important figure in the Brazilian national team and at Everton.

“I just need to continue working hard, keep scoring goals, win trophies and it will all work out for me.”
