Heavy rock fan: My Thin Lizzy diet plan

SU SWAPS NOSH FOR MOSH

A WOMAN has a rocking body after losing eight stone during lockdown by working out to heavy metal music.

Su Morgan, 40, ballooned to 18st

7lb by gorging on double portions of dinner and takeaways.

The mum of four would guzzle two litres of Dr Pepper cola a day and swelled to a size 26.

Su knew it was time to make a change and discovered a dance class called Rock Fit in March 2020.

The online sessions combined aerobics with heavy metal – so were just the ticket for the music lover. After rocking out with the class five times a week and tweaking her diet, Su shed 8st 6lb and dropped down to a healthy 10st

1lb. She now fits into a svelte size 12. Su, from Birmingham, said: “I found the rock aerobics class during lockdown and I fell in love. “It’s the most fun I’ve ever had exercising and I would be dripping in sweat afterwards.”

Su said she was “always big” but her weight ballooned over the years as a busy single mum to daughters Aylssa, 14, Phoebe, 11, Taylor, nine, and Sophie, three.

For breakfast she would have four slices of toast followed by food from Greggs for lunch and a takeaway for dinner.

She piled on the pounds and her weight spiralled out of control.

So Su – a big fan of metal music festival Download – was thrilled when she found the Rock Fit classes were available online.

She said: “I love rock music and attending Download Festival.

“The class is not available in my city so I was really lucky it was streamed online.”

Su added: “I was still eating the things I loved, just small portions.

“I’m really proud of myself and hopefully I can inspire others to do the same.”
