COUNT BINFACE BID TO CLEAN UP POLITICS

- ■ EXCLUSIVE by JOHN WARD john.ward@dailystar.co.uk

IS this the politician who can clean up sleaze in British politics? Count Binface certainly thinks he is.

The dustbin-headed character is standing in the upcoming London mayoral election.

And in an exclusive chat with the Daily Star Sunday, the Count claimed it will be a springboard to him taking over from Bozo in Number 10.

The self-proclaimed interplanetary space warrior said: “The current Government is a load of rubbish and rubbish is my thing. So I am here to clean up politics.

“I would like to take over from Boris. I have described him as the

Blonde Bumshell. I’m looking to coin that phrase. I want to get that term in the Oxford English Dictionary.

“Even his greatest opponents could not have thought that he could have mucked things up so much.

“I see London as a stepping stone to total domination of the country.

“I’m trying think of someone who was London Mayor and then went on to bend the entire country to his will. Ring any bells?”

Count Binface, played by comedian Jon Harvey, 41, has won support for a series of daft manifesto proposals including bringing back Ceefax, renaming London Bridge after Phoebe Waller-Bridge and ensuring no croissant is sold for more than £1.

Bookies make the Count 1,000/1 to take over from Sadiq Khan but he hopes to get more votes than rival candidate Laurence Fox.

He said: “I’m biding my time. You don’t want to be out ahead in a race sometimes as, like for a fox, it doesn’t always end well.

“Some of the candidates are crazy, anti-vaxxers, anti-maskers, scaremongers. They make me look sane.”
