No jolly Rodgers over final Yare SIX HIT

- By HARRY PRATT

BRENDAN RODGERS has warned his players that every game is important this season – not just the FA Cup Final.

The Leicester boss has instructed his squad to keep their eyes on the next prize and not to save themselves for the showpiece event against Chelsea at Wembley next month.

The Foxes, who host Crystal Palace tomorrow, still have Champions League qualification in their sights and Rodgers wants his men to prove to him they deserve a starting spot.

He said: “Of course, the final will get cranked up. There’s more focus, there’s more hype from the media.

“In the remaining games, it’s not about getting yourself rReady for theOfinal. There many gamesIaheaNd of that.”

ROY HODGSON says Leicester prove the ‘Big Six’ concept in the Premier League is dead in the water.

The Crystal Palace boss, 73, felt that was the case long before the European Super League breakaway emerged and collapsed in 72 dramatic hours last week.

The hard facts speak for themselves according to Hodgson, given that

Leicester were omitted from the group of elite English clubs involved in the failed coup. Not only did the Foxes lift the league title in 2016 but they have been competing for the top four on a regular basis since.

They are currently third in the table.

And Hodgson is adamant that the phrase ‘Big Six’ is out of date on these shores – and ought to be chucked in the bin.

The former England, Liverpool and Inter Milan manager said: “I think we should stay away from the term ‘Big Six.’ Or maybe the

‘Big Six’ can be the six teams at the top of our league, but I don’t think we should even consider it any longer.

“The fact that you were once a very, very big team shouldn’t give you the right to be that big team for evermore.

“Yes, there are teams in our league that are traditionally and historically stronger than others.

“But those six top spots are available to us all when the season starts. We can hope, and even sometimes believe, that we can get there – just as Leicester did.

“They have been cited as one of the best examples and I wouldn’t disagree.”
