Film duo grinning from year to ear
HERE are two ladies who we should all be applauding…
Cameron and Drew – that’s Diaz and Barrymore (no relation to Michael!) – this week posted photos showing how they are ageing gracefully without any fillers or filters.
Cameron is 49 and Drew is 46. I think they both look fabulous, don’t you?
Filtered or not, men always need to be diplomatic when it comes to a woman’s age.
My top tip here is to remember her birth date but not the year.
I turn 60 next month and can confirm I’ve never used a filter… except for the one in my coffee percolator.
But I have to say I’ve felt my age this week.
I don’t know about you, but the older I get the earlier it gets late.
This was not ideal as I had to drive to work with trips from London to Minehead, then to Leeds, then on to Hull and then finally back to London.
I was playing four different late-night DJ sets at various festivals and weekenders alongside my two weekend radio shows.
So this morning I’m reminded of a quip I read the other day – as one gets older, looking in the mirror is like putting Sky News on. You just know there’ll be some developments you don’t like.
I reckon the best way to navigate ageing is to marry an archaeologist – the more of a relic you become, the more interested they’ll be.
For me and most guys, we’ve grown up suffering the embarrassment of our zips flying low and someone pointing this out to us.
But this is nothing compared to getting older and actually forgetting to unzip before you have a wee.
Growing old gracefully is fine but – bathroom gaffes aside – disgracefully sounds more fun, eh?
