HOLIDAY home owners are being driven up the wall by guests’ demands – including complaints about owls hooting “too late”.

One person staying in rural Cumbria whinged about the local wildlife being too noisy.

They whined about “owls hooting too late; birds singing too early.” Others shove dirty crockery into cupboards and leave gardens filled with dog mess.

The number of families holidaying in the UK has surged due to travel restrictions, meaning a jump in bizarre demands and moans revealed by renters.

One host on Airbnb said:

“A couple booked a two-night stay where the man was secretly due to propose to his girlfriend.

“He then requested noone be on the property from

5pm when they were roughly due to arrive, but that a full-blown fire be lit.

“What he intended to be a romantic gesture broke every rule of insurance.

“You don’t leave fires burning in houses when noone is there. The request was politely declined.”

Another homeowner said: “One person arrived at our house near Brighton with its famously pebbly coast and messaged for directions to the nearest sandy beach.”

One holiday let owner said: “They ask, ‘What time is breakfast?’ to which the reply is, ‘Whatever time you make it.’” Unique Homestays, a holiday home website, said they “received multiple requests for live music and acoustic bands to enhance arrival dinners, as well as Michelinstarred chefs to cater”. Meanwhile, one owner was baffled to find his pictures missing. When the guest was called, they said: “Oh yes, we brought them home. Invoice us, will you?”
