For-get Ron we have got Moyesie

- By HARRY PRATT

WEST HAM have a second coming of their own to rival Cristiano Ronaldo’s at Man United.

That’s the view of Spanish ace Pablo Fornals as he hailed the spectacular impact of manager David Moyes.

The Scot has enjoyed a sensational return into the Hammers hotseat, transforming the club from relegation candidates to Europa League qualifiers.

All achieved in less than two seasons, which makes you wonder why West Ham ever let the ex-Manchester United boss go in the first place.

Fornals, 25, was not around for that opening spell but only has to talk with team-mates who were to understand the extraordinary turnaround Moyes has sparked at the club – twice.

Ahead of Ronaldo and United’s visit today, Fornals said: “We spoke about it. It was a similar moment. The team wasn’t too good, the gaffer came in and saved the team.

“Now, in this second time, he has stayed with us and that’s why we’re where we are.”

As for his take on Ronaldo, the ex-Villarreal man added: “When Cristiano was first at United I was a bit young – but it was amazing watching his free-kicks and how he played.

“Obviously, he’s not the same player to his first period but he is Cristiano Ronaldo – and one of the best in the world.”

Fornals scored the winner against Ronaldo’s Real Madrid while at Villarreal in 2018.

But he refuses to take any personal credit for that success.

He added: “I didn’t beat Cristiano. I didn’t play against him one on one. It would make my day if I could repeat that.

“But I am not dreaming of the moment.”
