Martin not smarting after big comeback

- By ROBERT DUNFORD

SWANSEA manager Russell Martin praised his side as they came from three goals down at Luton.

The Swans were as good as buried after less than thirty minutes after a Hatters blitz.

Three subs in Ben Cabango, Oliver Ntcham and Joel Piroe changed the game, leaving Martin both annoyed and pleased.

He said “Let’s get the negative out of the way – the first half was nowhere near where we want to be.

“It was disappointing how it went.

“We’ll learn from it for sure. It can’t happen again and it won’t happen again.”

Luton looked on their way to earning all three points with a blistering start at Kenilworth Road.

Luke Berry opened the scoring after just seven minutes when he volleyed home a superb effort.

Elijah Adebayo heaped more pain on Swansea after 15 minutes from the spot, after Kyle Naughton tripped Harry Cornick.

And the Hatters were in dreamland when the

23-year old netted his second on 23 minutes.

But the Swans started the second half brightly, thanks to the triple subs.

They got a glimmer of light through some good fortune, when a Jamie Paterson shot looped off the body of keeper Simon Sluga on

63 minutes. Ntcham delivered a stunning strike with four minutes remaining, before Piroe sealed a point late into injury time.

Luton boss Nathan Jones said: “We looked dead on our feet.

“We’ve had two away journeys and there’s no benefit. We’ve had real travel and I haven’t been able to make a load of changes today.”
