Trust joker John to drum up laughs
THE Beatles “Get Back” to business next month with a three-part series of unseen footage on Disney+.
There’s a really great trailer for it doing the rounds right now and it’s well worth a peep.
You’ll see incredible humour from Lennon in this documentary, proving he was the joker in the pack.
His best line ever was during an interview in the 60s when he was asked if he thought Ringo was the best drummer in the world.
John replied: “Ringo’s not even the best drummer in The Beatles.”
You didn’t know Paul also plays the drums? Well, you do now.
John’s answer included a clever mention for Ringo’s predecessor too, who was of course Pete Best!
When the band was in the studio, their producer George Martin said: “Any ideas how we can end this new song Hey Jude, guys?”
But the band simply replied one by one “nah” “nah” “nah” “nah”… That’ll work then.
When I was a kid, I distinctly remember my mum often posing the question we have all been asked at one time or another… Beatles or Stones?
I always thought it would be much nicer to have something normal for dinner.
I ended up addicted to collecting the Fab Four’s records, so much so it actually took over my life as a teenager. I still need Help!
There are plenty of Beatles tribute acts out there if you’re looking to book one.
You could choose between Beatlejuice, The Beatnix, Beatallica – which sounds kind of heavy – or, perhaps the most famous of them all, The Bootleg Beatles.
Lastly, what do you reckon to the rather ambitiously named Better Beatles? Imagine booking them.
I reckon it would be perfectly acceptable to insist on a refund after their show, based on the fact that their name didn’t live up to the “better” label… based on the original band’s track record of being fairly good themselves.
