Corberan refusing to get too carried away with joy of six

- By ROSS HEPPENSTALL

BOSS Carlos Corberan insists he is reading nothing into Huddersfield’s rise to the top six.

Tom Lees gave the Terriers an early lead when he bundled home Danel Sinani’s corner after keeper Matt Ingram failed to get any distance on his punched clearance.

Duane Holmes (below) sealed victory when he skipped past several challenges on the edge of the box to curl home a sumptuous shot.

Corberan said: “It doesn’t change anything because we are going to have one very, very demanding game against Birmingham on Wednesday.

“They have one day more to recover. Now the key is how you recover and use the next days to arrive with a lot of energy.

“The game was exactly what I was expecting. I knew the level of energy of Hull would be very high but I knew that the level of energy of our players would be very high too.”

The Tigers had plenty of possession but their final ........... 2 ...................... 0 ball was wasteful. Keane LewisPotter’s free-kick was pushed away by Lee Nicholls with the Terriers keeper also tipping over Jacob Greaves’ header while Mallik Wilks shot wide in added time.

Hull remain 21st in the Championship and boss Grant McCann cut a frustrated figure. He said: “There’s nothing else in the game apart from the set-play goals we’ve conceded. “We had huge chances in the game that we didn’t take and that was the difference between the two teams.”
