Silva’s top salute for his Mit of alright

- By JON WEST

ALEKSANDAR MITROVIC kept up his hot scoring streak as as Fulham won a sixth game on the trot.

The Serb plundered his 10th goal in just six games to take his season’s tally to 20.

But Marco Silva’s side needed keeper Marek Rodak to hold off a resilient Peterborough.

The Slovakia ace pulled off a late stop to deny Jonson Clarke-Harris – and rack up a fifth straight clean sheet.

Silva said: “These are fantastic numbers for us.

“The key for our win was that we never lost patience. We deserved the three points because we were the best team from start to the end, the team that wanted to win.”

Fulham were strangely subdued in an opening half that saw the hosts close to taking the lead.

Clarke-Harris, starting for the first time since serving a ban for historical homophobic social media posts, hit the top of a post just after the half-hour mark.

The second period was a different story however as Fulham moved through the gears.

A goal was coming and Mitrovic was never going to miss when Neeskens Kebano crossed for the striker to nod home from four yards in the 74th minute.

Posh boss Darren Ferguson was annoyed.

He said: “It’s a rubbish result. We shouldn’t have lost the game.

“It’s probably as disappointed as I’ve been all season. You can’t give the leading goalscorer in the country a free header from four yards.”
