Cobbles Colson clobbers trolls

CORRIE FAVE’S DECADE OF TAUNTS

- EXCLUSIVE edward.gleave@dailystar.co.uk

CORRIE’S Colson Smith has beaten internet trolls... by ignoring them.

The actor has been the target of abuse since he first found TV fame on the soap at the age of just 11.

But after a more than a decade of taunts, and now aged 23, he’s had enough and has stopped reading comments online.

Colson, who plays

Craig Tinker, said: “People can be negative around everything in life, so I have completely stopped reading social media.

“I don’t take any notice of it. It’s a decision I made because I realised you can’t react to other people. It’s got to be about yourself.

“I worked out that I liked looking after myself.

“One of the ways I am doing that is to not be fixated on everything that is being said about me.”

A lot of the trolling Colson has received over the past decade has been about his looks. But now even that doesn’t bother him. He added: “When you are in the public eye, people are always going to have something to say about the way you look.

“But now I don’t take any notice of any of it.”

Colson is also on a high after starting an exercise regime.

It means he is fit enough to take part in The Games on ITV.

He said: “The past two-and-ahalf years have purely been about me and putting myself first. That’s what I’ve enjoyed.

“It’s a change I did for myself. And with fitness, you realise the benefits it has for you mentally.”

The only reaction Colson now cares about is the one he gets from Corrie fans in person.

He said: “Viewers are great when you meet them in the street. They are always very pleasant.”
