GREYHOUNDS: BANK ON BORNA BUG

SCREEN CRITIC CAN HAVE HIS SAY AT SWINDON

ON THE UP: Screen Critic is fancied at Swindon BORNA BUG (8.18) is a pup still learning the ropes, but the penny has started to drop and he can maintain that progress by winning the opening heat of the Owners Bonus Series at Romford tonight.

Flanked by moderate starters, if the September 2013 son of Flying Stanley does manage to control things on the inside, fully expect him to BLAZING SUN MADASAMARCHHARE KIAMBA CLONLEIGH KATE JETSTREAM BUSTER SCREEN CRITIC EXPRESS CREEK LEEMOUNT ELMO LEONS LADY ASHVILLE JOKER KINLOCH BEAR RATED FAST

RAGING FREE (8.34) has only managed to chalk up the sole success but in fairness she hasn’t been disgraced in defeat and is worth giving another chance.

Her come from off the pace style does leave her vulnerable to encountering traffic but, if the gaps appear when she does make her move in the second half, she can pick these rivals off in the latter stages.

CONLIG MASTER (8.50) lacks scope but he is rarely too far away at the death and can reward the faithful following a couple of costly defeats.

He is usually tapped for a yard of early pace but makes up for the lost ground from halfway and the race could be run to suit his style of running.

SCREEN CRITIC (7.48) may be getting long in the tooth, but Kevin Hutton’s veteran silenced the doubters with an impressive success last week and the 2013 Derby finalist can dish out further punishment at Swindon.

The striped vest is a perfect draw and a slick exit can see him lead off the second bend and proceed to stretch clear down the back straight.

The Hutton camp unleashes a couple of interesting newcomers in JETSTREAM BUSTER (7.32) and Monroe Hondo in a maiden contest over the standard 480m.

The former won a couple of races with ease at Thurles and his qualifying trials suggest he can open his account at the first time of asking.
