TACKLE IS ON A ROLL

-

TOUCH TACKLE (4.27) can reverse heat form with Millwards Teddy at Monmore this afternoon.

They meet for the third time on the bounce, having first crossed paths in the Regency final at Hove three weeks ago.

The selection came out on top on that occasion, but not

of the RACING POST before being given a mighty scare by Millwards Teddy.

Dean Childs’ dog was travelling best when mounting a challenge on the run for home but didn’t go through with his effort and failed by half a length.

The Hove raider got his revenge in the heats of the Ladbrokes Summer Classic last week though, when on the better going he got the run of the race out wide, whereas Touch Tackle was being held up at various points after messing up the start.

On that evidence, a better getaway and a level playing field of a track should see Jim Daly’s black confirm big-race Hove form with Millwards Teddy in the third semi-final of the 630m competition. Just a head denied BLAKEFIELD JACK ( 3.48) landing a big first round punt.

Again, hoping the track runs fairer, he is worth another go in the opening semi given that was his first six-bend race.

Despite the disadvantageous track conditions, tight railer WESTMEAD LOLA (4.08) continued her terrific streak of form last week and is hard to get away from in the second semi.

Another decent break can see her corner the field off at the opening turn and she can put the race to bend with trademark mid-race brilliance.

There are three supporting competitions starting with DROOPYS VODKA (2.47), SWIFT HOFFMAN (4.47) and CLUXTONS FREE (5.38) the respective heat picks from each.
