US to eat our beef
BRITISH beef and lamb is likely to be back on American menus next year nearly two decades after it was banned because of mad cow disease.
US agriculture officials have recommended lifting the ban next January after studies found massive improvements in animal health on UK farms.
It is Britain’s first major foreign trade deal since the Brexit vote and is worth £35million a year.
Farms minister George Eustice said: “It is great news for our farmers who are one step closer to gaining access to the lucrative US market.”
