Kurt’s hurt by a worm

KURT MAFLIN shrugged off a WORM attack to beat Xiao Guodong 5-0 in the last 16 of the World Open in China yesterday.

The 32-year-old Londoner had to see a doctor on Tuesday after his thumb swelled to twice its normal size.

Maflin was bitten by a species of worm common in the Yushan area of China.
