‘INDIAN SUMMER’ TO LAST A MONTH
AUTUMN is set to rocket to 30C as sizzling temperatures continue well into next month.
The good news comes as sunseekers in the south make the most of 25C spells today.
Expert Piers Corbyn, from WeatherAction, said thermometers would surge into the high 20s for an Indian summer throughout September.
He said: “It is likely we will get more heatwave conditions through the next month.
“As the jet stream shifts north this will allow hot air up from Africa.”
Exacta Weather’s James Madden said: “A warm to hot weather pattern will begin the meteorological autumn this week.
“It will bring consistent temperatures in at least the mid 20Cs in parts of the south and 30C or more isn’t out of the question.
“Hot air built up on the near continent will continue to drift across our shores to bring several bursts of warm to hot weather in among some other weather types for September and into October.”
