Wilf bid is axed

- By PAUL BROWN

TOTTENHAM have abandoned their pursuit of wantaway Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha.

Palace last week turned down a bid worth £12m, plus £2m in add-ons, for the 23-year-old.

Eagles chairman Steve Parish described that offer as “ridiculous” and Spurs will not return with an improved offer.

Tottenham were willing to listen to offers for South Korean forward Son Heung-min if they had landed Zaha. But they have now turned down a £24m bid from Wolfsburg for Son, who will stay at White Hart Lane.

Spurs have been looking for a No.10 all summer and were linked with a move for Isco this week.

But club insiders insist they will not be signing the Real Madrid misfit, despite reports in Spain saying they were close to a loan deal.
