£34m to get Slim

® LEICESTER have been told to cough up £34m to sign Sporting Lisbon star Islam Slimani.

The Foxes had a £25m bid rejected by the Portuguese club yesterday but are expected to return with a better offer.

The Algeria international scored 27 league goals last season and has told Sporting he wants to join Leicester.

He would become the club’s record signing if he links up with countryman Riyad Mahrez.

And Leicester are still confident of completing the transfer – despite interest from West Brom.

Leicester winger Marc Albrighton, 26, last night signed a new deal to stay at the club until 2020.
