OLYMPIC medallist Louis Smith was subjected to a “racist” slur on a train.

The gymnast revealed on Twitter that he was the only passenger in the carriage asked if they were legitimately travelling first class.

He posted to his 258,000 followers: “I wonder if there’s a reason the guy serving food on the train only asked me if I was supposed to be in first class.”

Fan Barry Evans replied: “Yes mate. He’s a thinly veiled racist.”

Tasha wrote: “Think we can probably guess why.”

Elizabeth Masters added: “That’s disgusting. Make a complaint.”

Last night Louis, 27, declined to name the train company involved.

Louis won bronze and two silvers in London and Rio, was awarded the MBE and won Strictly in 2012.

His manager declined to comment. OLYMPIC heroes the Brownlee brothers are giving up triathlons for the winter so they can support Leeds United and drink tea.

Silver medallist Jonny, 26, who was dramatically carried across the finishing line by Yorkshire brother Alistair at the World Triathlon Series in Mexico two weeks ago, said: “I’m looking forward to cheering on Leeds.”

Rio gold winner Alistair, 28, added: “I’m going to enjoy the simple things, just being home and having a cup of tea.”
