Drinks are on Slaven
® SLAVEN BILIC admits his squad’s champagnefuelled session this week was his idea.
After four Premier League defeats in a row, the Hammers players racked up a £5,000 bill at a Knightsbridge restaurant on Monday, before going to a club.
Three of the squad were pictured in a McDonald’s at 7am the next day, with the club also probing claims striker Andy Carroll carried on partying even longer.
Bilic said: “It was our third meeting, a big one. After losing to Southampton I said, ‘Let’s talk’. We had a meeting – it was very open.
“The next day was their day off so I said, ‘Okay, go out for a meal, go somewhere’.
“Generally, it can only help. I am not the first one and not the last one to do it.
“It happens in any job. It’s definitely good.” Group B: C: Group D: Group E: Group H: Group J: Group I: Group F: Warrington .............. 18 St Helens ................. 10 Warrington – T: G: St Helens – T: G: SPEEDWAY Premier League play-off qtr-final, 1st leg: TENNIS WTA Wuhan Open – qtr-final: TODAY’S DIARY FOOTBALL Everton v Crystal Palace (8pm) .........................
