Fellas want to feel fine and dandy ALL THE NEWS,
VAIN blokes are taking slimming pills or going on crash diets in a bid to bag a better body.
One in five fellas takes pills to look as slim as models like David Gandy, according to research.
A study showed a third of UK men are not happy with their body image while over half admit to having been on a diet at least once.
Fashion giant Jacamo, which offers sizes up to 5XL, carried out the poll as part of its Real Man Runway search to find a “real” male model.
Ed Watson of Jacamo said: “From the word go, we’ve always championed male body diversity, encouraging guys to feel confident, whatever their shape or size.
“But the male fashion industry continues to lag behind women’s who have campaigned for more realistic models for years.” The competition will be judged by Jacamo ambassador and cricketing hero Freddie Flintoff along with modelling guru Donna Green.
Donna, from Europe’s largest modelling agency, Models 1, added: “We’re delighted to be a part of this campaign.
“It’s more important than ever to ensure the fashion industry reflects the needs and wants of consumers and this research says loud and clear that guys are looking to see more ‘real’ men featured in fashion campaigns.
“Women are ahead in this respect so it’s time for men to catch up.”
Entrants should upload a photo to their social media accounts with the hashtag #realmanrunway, from Wednesday.
