JOSE’S MAD MONTH

- By CHRIS McKENNA

JOSE MOURINHO insists Manchester United will be fired up for their October onslaught.

The Old Trafford chief says he is still learning about the qualities of the team as they head into a huge month.

But he does expect the big games in the next few weeks to motivate his stars.

United host Stoke tomorrow and also face Liverpool and Chelsea in the Premier League, with a Europa League clash ® with Fenerbahce sandwiched in between. The month also includes an EFL Cup tie with rivals City and is rounded off by a league clash with Burnley. Mourinho (left) said: “Every game is massive. “Every game for me is important but we have some big opponents in October and that’s also a motivation. “You know, I need time. I need the players to play, I need to see them in different circumstances. I need to understand more about them.

“There is so much to learn about the players that only when you work with them a long, long time you really know them well.

“There’s always a surprise behind the door when you work with a team for three or four or five months. There’s always a surprise.”

Mourinho warned his side to be wary of Stoke despite the Potters being second from bottom with just two points.

The Portuguese feels Mark Hughes’ side are in a false position.

He added: “I am sure that at the end of May, they will be in the Stoke area in the table.

“They will be there so I play against a good manager and good players.

“The table I think is just a moment, just a period and they will get over it.”
