Dettori to hit right note in the Opera

- by CHRIS GOULDING

FRANKIE DETTORI can light up Chantilly tomorrow by partnering SO MI DAR (2.20) to victory in the Prix de l’Opera.

Victory for the popular Italian will see him treating racegoers to his trademark flying dismount.

The unbeaten So Di Mar has all the attributes to take this prize.

Following her impressive win at York in the

Musidora she was made second favourite for the Investec Oaks.

But injury prevented the John Gosden-trained filly from running at Epsom.

She recently showed she has fully recovered by winning on a tight rein at Yarmouth, where she had the talented Arabian Queen and Nezwaah in her slip stream.

Dettori, having his 28th ride in Prix de l’Arc Triomphe, can make it a historic fifth victory with ORDER OF ST GEORGE (3.05).

The impressive Ascot Gold Cup winner disappointed on his latest start when second behind Wicklow Brave at the Curragh in the Irish St Leger.

But he was found out by a tactical ride from Dettori on Wicklow Brave. The expected fast and furious pace tomorrow will bring out the best in him.

Solid

Dettori and Gosden also have solid claims with Dabyah in the Prix Marcel Boussac.

But she will have to be something special to catch TOULIFAUT (1.10), a daughter of the mighty Frankel.

She has won all her three races without being asked a serious question.

Despite having run seven times SALOUEN (1.45) is improving and can take another giant step by taking the Prix Jean-Luc Lagarde for trainer Sylvester Kirk.

Ground conditions should be ideal for the Brits to strike with MECCA’S ANGEL (4.35) in the Prix de l’Abbaye and LIMATO (5.15) in the Prix de la Foret.
