BIRD TO FLY FINAL

PAGES OF FANTASTIC START WITH GREYHOUNDS

- By STEVE NASH

BUBBLY BLUEBIRD (9.08), can add the £7,000 John Smiths Kent Derby Final to his impressive CV at Central Park tomorrow night, live on Sky Sports.

The Puppy Classic winner and ante-post 2017 Derby favourite can continue his winning sequence, even if facing a worthy opponent in Droopys Who.

It’s also the night of the eagerly awaited showdown between the sport’s top two hurdlers in the Grand National Final.

RAZLDAZL RAIDIO (8.51) is a joy to watch over the jumps and Rick Holloway’s Champion Hurdle winner could lower his own track record from trap 6.

With great rival and Springbok champ Ballymac Manix in trap 2 it promises to be a great final, and is a play for forecast backers.

John Mullins’ DASHING STAR (7.59) can follow up last week’s Kent Cesarewitch victory in the marathon from the red box. Winner of his last three, he has speed and stamina and will be looking to dominate early over this gruelling 893m trip.

At Nottingham tonight, WOODBROOK LEGEND (8.04) can confirm heat form by taking the Standard Trophy Final. Terry Munslow’s three-year-old has a plum draw on the rails that makes him the bet of the night.

Another locally-trained runner, Anneliese Thompson’s SWIFT HANSEL (7.48) has been picked up after leading in his last two when well fancied, but has taken the switch up to six bends well.

BANG ON GILES (7.32) brings a touch of class to this Britishbred race from the kennels of the in-form Phil Simmonds.

VIKING JIMMY (9.07) encountered first bend trouble last week, but is well drawn in stripes and should fare better for Jim Hayton in the sprint heats. KINSLEY
