BIG SAM OFF TO AMERICA

Job at States club on cards for disgraced 3 Lions boss

SHAMED ex-England manager “Big Sam” Allardyce could resume his career in the US.

The football coach faces a potential ban in Britain after being forced to quit as Three Lions supremo.

He was exposed by undercover newspaper investigators probing the murky side of football.

The 61-year-old may now turn his back on his country and eye up possible jobs across the Atlantic.

Allardyce was forced to step down last week after just 67 days and one match in charge of the national team. He was secretly filmed advising investigators posing as Far East businessmen how to get around FA transfer rules.

His actions have left him facing a possible FA charge which could see him banned from football.

But pals say he does not plan to give up the game.

Allardyce has refused to rule out a return to management thousands of miles away with one of America’s MLS clubs.

He played for the Tampa Bay Rowdies in the early 80s and loved both the lifestyle and the way American sports teams used science to get the best performance out of their players.

In his book Big Sam: My Autobiography, which was published last year, he wrote: “A job in the MLS appeals and (my wife) Lynne might like that.

“We’ve always enjoyed going to the USA for our family holidays in Florida

“America taught me so much that stood me in good stead for my managerial career, from diets to training techniques.”

One ex-colleague said: “Sam has spoken a lot about his time in Tampa.

“He loved it and it really opened his eyes.

“It’s still early days yet but he hasn’t ruled out a return to football and he would love to give it a crack over there.”

They added: “If someone gave him an opportunity in the States he’d struggle to turn it down.”
