PAIGE ‘DELI OF DEATH’ FOR RENT

Fury over horror shop plan

A BID to rent out the sandwich shop where teenager Paige Doherty was butchered has angered locals.

The Delicious Deli takeaway has stayed shut since the 15-year-old was stabbed 146 times by John Leathem, 32, in March this year.

Now landlord Lakhbir Singh says he is considering putting the shop in Clydebank, West Dunbartons, back up for rent.

But community leader John White said locals never want to see the premises used again. Mr White, 52, community councillor for Clydebank East, said: “It’s outrageous to think the shop will be open again. “No one in the community wants to see it open again – ever. The landlord should be taking that into consideration. “It cannot even be knocked down because it is attached to other businesses.” Mr Singh, 54, said: “Hopefully somebody takes the place and brings something that will add to the community.”
