Terrified kids can call hero

A HERO has emerged from the shadows to battle “killer clowns” and reassure children.

Dad Garry Bedford works as a construction site manager by day but takes on the clowns at night.

Children can phone Garry and a group of 12 volunteers for reassurance, and he dons a £1,000 Bat Suit to show he means business.

The 47-year-old from Workington, Cumbria, said: “The kids are apprehensive at first but at the end of the day they are very thankful.

“We put the Bat Phone up there to reassure people of the clown situation – that was really rewarding and really worked.”

Earlier this month, Garry appeared on This Morning via video to talk about his crusade.

Local mum Stephanie Dunford said: “My daughter is autistic and thought there was a clown in the garden. We made a call to Batman and it put a lovely smile on her face again.”
