Bunn fight for a starting role

HARRY BUNN is happy to wear the supersub tag with high-flying Huddersfield – for the time being.

The forward has only started two league games this season for David Wagner’s surprise promotion contenders.

But he came off the bench after an hour and crossed for an injury-time winner for German striker Elias Kachunga.

Bunn, 23, said: “We’ve got a big squad and the manager told us at the start of the season that he would be rotating.

“I think we’ll start to see that a lot more.

“I thought the lads who came in did brilliantly. I think you could pick any starting 11 out of this squad and they would deliver.

“I’ve not played as many minutes as I’d have liked but hopefully I can get a run of games now.”

Kachunga, on loan from German side Ingolstadt, now has four in the league and Bunn added: “He is great in the air, he’s already shown that this season.

“So you know if you put the ball into good areas, he’s always going to be in and around it, attacking the ball. Credit to him for getting in the box.”

Derby skipper Richard Keogh tasted defeat for the first time since Steve McClaren returned to take over at Pride Park.

And the veteran central defender admitted his side needs to wise up to shake the habit of leaking late goals.

Keogh said: “We probably should have been a bit smarter and a bit more savvy.

“It’s something that we need to address, for sure.

“We were a bit naive, maybe, in that I ended up getting drawn out wide but the guy dug out an unbelievable cross.

“People might look at it and say it’s a habit but, generally, I don’t think that’s the case.”
