A BRIT banker filmed himself torturing and killing two sex workers before stuffing one in a suitcase and dumping her on his balcony, a court heard.

Rurik Jutting then repeatedly stabbed the other prostitute in the neck and bottom in his lavish Hong Kong flat, it was claimed. Yesterday, the city worker, 31, pleaded not guilty to murdering Sumarti Ningsih, 23, and Seneng Mujiasih, 26. The Indonesian women’s bodies were discovered in the Cambridgeeducated banker’s home, just yards from Hong Kong’s notorious red-light district, in November 2014. Jutting told Hong Kong’s High Court yesterday that he was “not guilty of murder by reason of diminished responsibility, but guilty of manslaughter”. But prosecutors demanded the murder trial go ahead. John Reading, prosecuting, told the court how the Jutting tortured Ms Sumarti using his belt, sex toys, a pair of pliers and his fists before her death. He said: “After torturing her for three days, he took her into the bathroom, had her kneel in front of the toilet bowl with her hands tied behind her back.

“He made her lick the toilet bowl and then he cut her throat with a serrated-edged knife.”

Drug-fuelled Jutting filmed himself slitting both women’s throats and can be heard on the video saying he “definitely could not have done that without cocaine”.

Mr Reading said the start of the three days of torture was not the first time Jutting had met Miss Sumarti, with the prostitute forced to flee an earlier rendezvous when he paid to have sex with her.

Jutting had been so rough, the sex worker offered to give back half his money if she could leave early, which he agreed to.

Judge Michael Stuart-Moore warned jurors before the selection process there were “particularly horrifying aspects to this case, with one victim subject to extreme violence and cruelty amounting to torture”.

Evidence included colour photographs that were “not pleasant photographs to look at”.

The judge added: “They are extremely upsetting. He said the defendant even recorded on his iPhone part of the torture he inflicted on his first victim, which will be shown to the jury.

The trial continues.
