POP icon Pete Burns has died aged 57 after a massive heart attack – sending the showbiz world into mourning.
The Dead or Alive singer, famous for 80s hit You Spin Me Round, collapsed at home but could not be revived.
He starred in Celebrity Big Brother in 2006 and last night host Davina McCall said: “So so sad... we partied hard in the 90s. RIP Pete x.”
POP star Pete Burns has died aged 57 after a massive heart attack.
He collapsed on Sunday but the shock news of his death only emerged last night. The world of showbiz, hit hard in 2016, was again plunged into mourning. The Dead or Alive frontman was best known for his iconic 80s hit You Spin Me Round and later starred on reality TV shows.
His manager announced his death “with the greatest sadness” in an emotional statement on Twitter.
He wrote: “All of his family and friends are devastated by the loss of our special star. He was a true visionary, a beautiful talented soul, and he will be missed by all who loved and appreciated everything he was and all of the wonderful memories that he has left us with.”
The exact circumstances of his death were not revealed.
Pete, originally from Bebington, Wirral, founded his band Dead or Alive in 1980.
Later he appeared on several reality TV shows including Celebrity Big Brother, Celebrity Wife Swap and The Body Shocking Show.
He starred in one of the most famous CBBs in 2006.

Last night politician Galloway tweeted: “Sad to hear of the demise of Pete Burns.”
Boy George said: “Tearful about the passing of @PeteBurnsICON he was one of our great true eccentrics.”
Pete admitted to hundreds of procedures to fix botched surgery on his face.
He declared: “The number of surgeries I’ve has is probably 300. I hope when I’m 80 and I get to heaven God doesn’t recognise me.”
Twice-married Pete wed Lynne Corlett in Liverpool in 1980, then tied the knot with his partner Michael Simpson in 2006.
