...Blair wants a war too!

Batty ex PM ignores YOUR vote on Brexit

BONKERS Tony Blair has sparked outrage after urging EU lovers to “rise up” and block Brexit.

The ex-PM angered Leave voters last night by claiming “they didn’t know the true cost” of quitting the EU.

And he is now demanding a national backlash to keep us in the bloc.

Mr Blair wants those who voted to stay in Europe last summer to force the Government to turn its back on the referendum.

Rival politicians last night hit out at Mr Blair, accusing him of “trying to undermine British democracy”.

He was branded “yesterday’s man” and urged to “let politicians get on with the job the people voted for”.

But the former Labour leader said: “People voted without knowledge of the true terms of Brexit.

“As these terms become clear, it is their right to change their mind. Our mission is to persuade them to do so.”

The controversial figure was speaking at the launch of Open Britain, a cross-party group ® which is campaigning against a so-called “hard Brexit” outside the European single market.

Mr Blair said: “The road we’re going down is not simply hard Brexit. It is Brexit at any cost.

“Our challenge is to expose relentlessly what this cost is, to show how the decision was based on imperfect knowledge, which will now become informed knowledge, to calculate in ‘easy to understand’ ways how proceeding will cause real damage to our country.”

Slated

Mr Blair said he wanted to find “a way out from the present rush over the cliff ’s edge”.

But leading Brexiteers last night slated the man who was prime minister from 1997 to 2007.

Former education secretary Michael Gove said: “People want politicians to get on with the job of making a success of leaving the EU rather than fighting old political battles.”

He said that Mr Blair should “respect the fact that the British people voted to leave”.
