GIANTKILLERS Lincoln City were dreaming of Wembley last night after the FA Cup quarter-final draw pitted them against fellow minnows Sutton United... or giants Arsenal.
The Conference National leaders, who won 1-0 at Premier League Burnley on Saturday, must hit the road again. Arsenal travel to Sutton tonight as red-hot favourites, with the winners hosting Lincoln next month for the chance to reach a Wembley semi-final.
The players, and coaches Nicky and Danny Cowley, gathered with their families in the bar at the club’s Sincil Bank ground to find out their fate. Meanwhile, a mystery punter will pocket £40,000 if Sutton win tonight after betting £200 at Ladbrokes on both non-league teams to go through.
A spokesman said: “Punters nationwide are banking on minnows Sutton to follow in Lincoln’s footsteps.”
