CALUM Scott is hoping to scoop the Best British Single award at the BRITS on Wednesday.

The BGT star, 28, told me that it’s all thanks to acts like Little Mix and One Direction who paved the way for his success.

Reality TV alumni haven’t always won big at award ceremonies. But Calum told me: “Look at One Direction and Little Mix, they are huge artists and they came from the same sort of beginnings.”

He added: “I think just keep working hard and if you’ve got the passion and that hunger then that’s what shines, not the fact you came from a show.”
