Savings blow
LOW-INCOME households in Britain have an average of just £95 put away as a “rainy day fund”, says a report.
A year ago, families earning £1,500 or less per month had £136 on average in spare cash.
Meanwhile, households with a monthly income of more than £5,000 have a savings pot of £62,885, up from £50,208.
Paul Brencher of Aviva UK said: “Those less fortunate are finding their finances increasingly stretched.”
