ALPHA BET LOOKS BEST

- By SIMON BANKS

ALPHA CARINEA (8.04) can land a quickfire double by repeating last week’s emphatic victory at Nottingham tonight.

He’s up against two of the dogs he beat last week, but not Stay Lucky who ran him to a length last time, and can lead all the way again if getting a half-decent break.

SIDARIAN BULLET (8.36) can benefit from being the only wide runner in his heat of the Sprint Trophy.

Ballymac Rosanni on his inside isn’t blessed with terrific early and Charlie Lister’s speedster could well get to the first bend ahead of the field. If he does, he’ll take some catching and can repel any challengers on the run-in.

GOTTABE SWEETIE (7.22) was probably harshly treated when promoted to the top grade at Yarmouth after winning an A2 at the first attempt back in December. She ® was progressing up the grades steadily until then and can establish herself back in A2 company with a win tonight at Yarmouth.

NEWLAWN PRINCE (8.14) has won three of his eight races since arriving from Ireland in the Autumn and would probably have hit the top grade by now if he didn’t keep finding trouble. If he gets a clear run at Romford tonight he’ll take a lot of catching by a field not packed with fast finishers.

CHOPCHOP AVELINE (8.31) is bang in form and can complete a hattrick in the following race.

The Central Park Springbok reaches the semi-final stage on Wednesday and SOBER CALL (9.24) looks a certainty to qualify for the final after setting a new track record last week. DRANOEL (9.56) combines excellent jumping skills with searing pace and looks good to win the other semi-final. 7.01 7.16 7.32 7.48
