DUO RAVE REVIEW

-

CHAINSMOKERS have fixed it for Chris Martin to become a proper raver.

The EDM duo teamed with Coldplay to record new single Something Just Like This.

It allowed Drew Taggart and Alex Pall to unleash a lesser-known side of Chris.

Alex told me: “He was a raver in another life, he likes to dance

“There’s a spirit of dance music that you can find in his lyrics, a tone, the same feeling you get in special dance songs.

“I can see why he’s drawn to it in the same way we are drawn to all of his music.”

The duo hooked up with Chris last year for a writing session, but were not certain they would ever get to keep Something Just Like This.

After debuting it at the BRITs last week, Alex laughed: “We (were) willing to fight him to the death for it.

“We only hung out one time, but it was sick to chill with one of our idols and hear his opinions. We delved into his world.”

The Chainsmokers have just completed a sell-out UK tour.

But they could return to this side of the Atlantic to help U2.

Drew explained: “Getting Bono texts is weird, we met at the same time as Chris.

“He’s got crazy charisma, he’ll walk into a room and when he leaves everybody feels like he was only talking to them.

“He showed us some new songs that sounded exciting. He’s been nothing but cool but we would be happy to offer our services. We’re just students of Bono and Chris Martin.”

Chainsmokers also had some info on whether fellow dance duo Daft Punk were about to make a comeback.

Alex spilled: “We have the same agent and we grill him about Daft Punk all the time, but I think he’s hiding something.

“I think they will play live soon.”
