Corrie’s dad: Expect more arrests soon
MISSING Corrie McKeague’s dad has hinted there may be more arrests in the case after a former part-time Pc was bailed.
Martin McKeague revealed police are looking into several theories about how his son, 23, vanished.
Former Special Constable Haydn Stephens, 26, was held on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.
His arrest came five months after RAF gunner Corrie was last seen on a night out in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.
Dad Martin said: “There are a number of lines of enquiry that the police are pursuing just now so we’ll just wait and see what we find out about this one.”
Mr Stephens works as a traffic dispatcher for waste management firm Biffa. He helps assign drivers to vehicles and collection routes.
One of the firm’s bin lorries collected rubbish from the area where Corrie was last seen.
It later dumped its load at a landfill tip in Milton, Cambs. Police are preparing to search the huge site. ® Corrie’s mother Nicola Urquhart, 47, said she hoped the arrest would lead to a “resolution”.
Corrie, who is originally from Dunfermline, Fife, is based at RAF Honington.
Following his disappearance in September, it emerged that his girlfriend April Oliver is pregnant with his child. April, 21, said Corrie did not know about the baby, due in late spring or early summer.
Yesterday, Suffolk police refused to comment on the arrest.
