Pulis in Palace flop pop

- By STEVE MADELEY

® TONY PULIS claims former club Crystal Palace have been big-spending flops since he left.

The West Brom boss says the Eagles have spent millions in a bid to make the Premier League’s top six – but have ended up battling relegation.

Pulis meets Palace today for the first time since he lost his battle with them over a £2m bonus.

He does so with Sam Allardyce’s Eagles in the bottom three – 10 places and 18 points behind his own high-flying Baggies.

False

Pulis said: “They’re in a false position with the amount of money they’ve spent, the strength of their squad and the players that they’ve got – and they’ve backed it up with loan signings like Loic Remy and Mamadou Sakho.

“They’ve spent an enormous amount of money and they did it to try to get in the top six.

“So where it’s all gone wrong I don’t know.”

Albion won at Selhurst Park on the opening day of the season, but since then a High Court judge has upheld the ruling of a Premier League Managers’ Arbitration Tribunal.

The tribunal agreed Pulis secured a £2m survival bonus from Palace early in August 2014 by lying about a land deal before quitting the club two days later.

Pulis has yet to pay any of the £3.7m damages he was ordered to and is believed to be considering another appeal.

The Baggies boss said: “The lawyers have told me to say nothing, but as soon as it’s all concluded I will have my say.”
