Swansea owe Gylfi big time

-

IF SWANSEA reach safety this season it will be in no small part down to their Icelandic star Gylfi Sigurdsson.

The 27-year-old has claims to be the best forward outside the top six Premier League clubs, with 40 caps for his country and, since his move to Swansea in 2014, 26 goals in 94 appearances for his club.

Sigurdsson (below) is 4-1 with Sky Bet to score the opening goal against today’s visitors Burnley but it is our even money about the Swans that catches the eye.

Swansea played well and did not deserve to go down 3-1 to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Under new boss Paul Clement, they simply look a better side than the Clarets, who have managed just two points on the road this season.

For the double, back Stoke at our 19-20 to see off a Middlesbrough side who have struggled for goals all season. Boro have found the net just 19 times and look to be up against it today.

Fair

The home side haven’t lost in seven at the bet365 Stadium and have a good record against teams outside the top six. If Manchester United suffer a hangover from their Wembley EFL Cup triumph then quick-starters Bournemouth may be able to capitalise. Bournemouth HT/ United FT at 25-1 is very tempting. West Brom have won seven of their last eight at the Hawthorns, so Sky Bet’s 23-20 about the Baggies turning over struggling Crystal Palace looks fair. Leicester versus Hull and Watford against Southampton look draw material at our 13-5 and 9-4 but Liverpool should be backed at 21-20 to beat Arsenal. The Reds are yet to lose to a top six team so take Liverpool to win and both teams to score at 5-2. Everton will be tested against 8-13 shots Spurs – who have won 11 at White Hart Lane – while 2-7 seems fair for Man City to win at bottom club Sunderland.
