JOHN TERRY could be offered a Premier League swansong at West Brom.

Chelsea’s former England skipper has had a change of heart on not playing for any other top-flight club after his trophyladen years at Stamford Bridge.

That’s opened the door for clubs to try and hand the 36-year-old a Premier League lifeline – with Baggies boss Tony Pulis revealing he would be interested.

Pulis confirmed that he had made enquiries in the January window and will look at the matter again in the summer.

Terry opted to stay at the Bridge and try to win a fifth league title but is frustrated at his lack of game time.

He has made only four starts this season and will not be offered a new deal, leaving him free to consider his options.

Terry, 37 in December, is currently on £90,000 a week but is not believed to be interested in one last hurrah in America’s MLS or the Chinese gravy train.

Available

Pulis, likely to face competition from Stoke and Bournemouth for the defender, said: “If he becomes available in the summer, we’ll sit down and think about what we’ve got and what we haven’t got and we’ll take it from there.

“From what I could gather in January, he wanted to stay with Chelsea and be part of going out as a champion.

“We’ll have to wait and see. I’ve always thought he was a good player. That is for the summer, not now.”

West Brom visit Everton today aiming to shackle former striker Romelu Lukaku, who scored 17 goals on loan from Chelsea before his £28m move to Goodison Park.

Baggies defender Gareth McAuley said: “He was quite low on confidence when he came here. That soon changed and he showed what a fantastic player he was. He really blossomed, so when we play against him we’ll have to be at our best.”

Meanwhile, Pulis also revealed he is expecting to open talks on a new contract in the next few weeks.
