Conte: I won’t keep my cool

- By PAUL BROWN

ANTONIO CONTE is ready to risk the wrath of Jose Mourinho by refusing to cool down his touchline antics.

Mourinho accused the Italian of rubbing it in when he celebrated wildly at the end of Manchester United’s 4-0 thrashing by Chelsea in October.

But Conte (below) says he has shown passion throughout his career and will not change.

The Blues boss, whose side face United at Stamford Bridge on Monday for a place in the FA Cup semi-finals, said: “It’s nothing we have to clarify with him.

“I think I’ve shown in every team I’ve managed that I live the game with great passion.”

Mourinho has made a series of sly digs at Chelsea since they dished out his biggest hiding in English football.

He has accused them of being a “very defensive team” and insisted United fans are more passionate. But Conte claims he is immune to the mind games. He said: “I am very focused on the pitch. The mind games don’t bring you wins.” Conte also claims Mourinho has a better squad, despite Chelsea sitting top of the Premier League, 17 points above United. But he reckons that is only because their squad is bigger than his own as they are competing in Europe. Conte said: “I think Manchester United, with City, have the best squad in the league. They have a great number of players with great talent.” Conte could recall John Terry, but refused to be drawn on whether it could be the defender’s last FA Cup tie at the Bridge, saying: “I hope not. I don’t know.”
