SICK killer Ian Brady may have left secret clues to the whereabouts of the last undiscovered Moors Murders victim.

Friends of Keith Bennett’s mum Winnie, who died in 2012, believe the monster left a written code in his 2001 book The Gates of Janus.

Erica Gregory, 50, who recently found a shotgun that Brady hinted might be his, thinks she could be about to crack the code.

She said: “I found that there was a cipher within Janus. There are parts which show where to look for Keith.

“No-one I know has seen how important the book is. There are hidden messages.

“I believe that Brady thought he was dying and wrote the cipher as his legacy.”

Another friend, who wishes to remain anonymous, received a letter from Brady in which he wrote: “One reviewer described Janus as the most dangerous book written in the past 60 years. I certainly hope that turns out to be the case.”

They said: “Brady is clearly hinting that there is something to be found in Janus.

“He could be saying there is a code. He and Myra used ciphers to write to each other while in prison and Brady might have done it again in his book.”

Alongside his lover Myra Hindley, evil Brady killed five victims aged from 10 to 17 – Pauline Reade, John Kilbride, Keith, Lesley Ann Downey and Edward Evans – between July 1963 and October 1965.

All the bodies have been recovered except that of Keith. His mum Winnie begged Brady to tell her where Keith was buried up until her death five years ago.
