Shock as reality star beats fave

MADE In Chelsea hunk Spencer Matthews was crowned the shock winner of The Jump last night.

The posh reality star’s victory caused an upset for the bookmakers as he beat favourite Louis Smith.

The Olympic gymnast had looked certain to win last night having seized victory in the earlier ski cross and snow cross races.

But Spencer – who had stopped partying and drinking all week to focus on the contest – came through on the final jump. He was up against Louis, rugby star Jason Robinson and model Amy Willerton on the Austrian slopes for the final leap.

And Spencer managed to jump the furthest – a distance of 18.98metres, setting a new series record. Bookies’ ® favourite Louis ended as runner-up having jumped 18.05m.

Wearing his cow bell trophy Spencer told host Davina McCall: “I’m so happy. I did everything I could to win. Louis was always the man I wanted to beat.”

Many fans were thrilled at the result after trolling “arrogant” Louis on Twitter.

Posts during last night’s show included: “Please anyone win but the smug, arrogant & irritating midget”, “Cocky p***k” and: “Please fall over and break bones.”

But Louis said: “It’s frustrating if people mistake confidence for arrogance. I’ve never gloated.”

It was a double victory for Spencer as he bet £3,000 that he’d win the Channel 4 show at the start of the contest last month.
