PRUE Leith is terrified of “doing a Chris Evans” if she becomes a judge on the Great British Bake Off.

The chef, 77, is tipped to replace Mary Berry when the show airs on Channel 4.

But she fears failing to fill her predecessor’s shoes – like Evans after taking over Top Gear from Jeremy Clarkson.

Prue said: “It’s a bit scary following Mary – I don’t want to do a Chris Evans.”

Prue is still to learn if she has a job alongside Paul Hollywood.

DAVINA McCall has quit Twitter in a strop after becoming the latest host to be panned over The Nightly Show.

Previous presenters David Walliams and John Bishop were bombarded with abuse on social media during their week-long gigs at the helm.

The ITV programme has bombed in the ratings.

Preparing herself for hatefilled messages to flood her Twitter timeline, the former ® Big Brother presenter told followers she was taking a break from social media.

She told her fans “If you hate it..fill yer boots” as she said she would not be looking at any comments on the site.

The host’s first episode on Monday night pulled in just 1.8million viewers. One Twitter user moaned: “Davina McCall is just awful,” while another grumbled: “Davina McCall rapping with Vicky McClure. Embarrassing. Stop it.”
