WES LIVING THE DREAM

Morgan after tie with the big-boys

- By DAVE ARMITAGE

LEICESTER skipper Wes Morgan admits he has started dreaming of Champions League glory.

Morgan’s Foxes go into the quarter-final draw in Switzerland today as Britain’s flag bearer.

They’re the only Premier League side still in the fight for Europe’s biggest prize after Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester City all crashed out.

It’s a remarkable story and one that Morgan doesn’t want to end as Leicester go into the hat with European giants like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Juventus and Bayern Munich.

The 33-year-old lifted the Premier League trophy last May after springing one of the biggest shocks of all time and now he’s hungry for more.

“We achieved the impossible in winning the Premier League title,” said Morgan.

“I’m sure no one thought we’d get this far in such a massive tournament as the Champions League. So why not dream?

“We’re the newcomers to the competition. Just to be in the group stages was an achievement in itself.

“We took it to the next stage and have now gone one on from that, so who knows how far we can go.” Morgan scored his first ® ever Champions League goal in Tuesday’s shock 2-0 victory over Sevilla which clinched their place in the last eight.

And he says his fantastic Foxes aren’t bothered who they are paired with next.

“We will take on whoever comes,” he said.

“We’ve proved everyone wrong and done the impossible again. Who knows what can happen?

“I’ve never been to the Camp Nou or the Bernabeu. It would be fantastic to go somewhere like one of those and experience that. “Would we like to get one of the really big boys? Yeah, why not?

Best

“You want to pit your wits against the best players in the world. “Coming up against the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo is what you dream of as a footballer so bring it on.” Today’s draw takes place at UEFA HQ in Nyon at 11am. In the hat are Germany’s Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, Spain’s Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, Italians Juventus, France’s Monaco and Leicester. First leg ties will be played in the week commencing April 10, with the second leg scheduled for the following week.
