MATTY TO FIRE FIRST

Phillips poses a threat

- Andy Townsend

THESE are troubling times if you’re an Arsenal fan and I don’t expect things to get any better soon. The Gunners have to travel to the Hawthorns today and I can see West Brom making things difficult for Arsene Wenger. Arsenal may be odds-on favourites – Betfred go a best 3-4 – but they have failed to win three of their last four Premier League games. In addition, they have also experienced those heavy Champions League losses to Bayern Munich and many neutrals will be looking at either the draw (3-1 Betfred) or even a Baggies victory at 22-5 with BetVictor. West Brom are having a decent season. Currently eighth, just three spots from Arsenal, they remain a tough side to beat. I can see them limiting Wenger’s side to maybe just the one goal, although they are unlikely to keep the Gunners out completely. I think a 1-1 draw is the most likely result here – take BetVictor’s 7-1.

Chances

Olivier Giroud continues in good goalscoring form and he must be backed to grab a goal at 11-10 with Sky Bet but let’s back a West Brom player to open the scoring.

Matty Phillips has scored four goals this term but usually has plenty of chances – he’s had 42 shots this season. Let’s chance him to net first at 11-1 with Stan James, Sky Bet and BetVictor.

Bournemouth against Swansea is a big game for both teams and the Cherries are 6-5 favourites with BetVictor, with Swansea 5-2 at Stan James and the draw 13-5 with Sky Bet.

Swansea have won two of their last four league games and I’ll take them to edge it here.

There are always goals when these sides meet, so I’ll go a 2-1 Swansea win at 12-1 with Sky Bet.

Let’s back Steve Cook to open the scoring (25-1 Sky Bet/Betfred), while Gylfi Sigurdsson can score two for Swansea (9-1 Sky Bet to score two or more).
