Fans spot black mark behind star’s shades
SOAP star Danny Dyer nipped out to fill up his car at the weekend – and left fans wondering if he had a black eye.
The EastEnders geezer seemed to have a dark mark lurking beneath his shades, days after wife Jo denied reports of a furious bust-up.
DANNY Dyer looks back to his cheeky chappy best – even though onlookers thought he was sporting a “black eye”.
The Cockney geezer was snapped having a laugh and a joke with a petrol station worker as he filled his car near his home.
But in one shot Dan – still on an “enforced” break from his role as Mick Carter in the soap – appeared to have a mystery black mark underneath his sunglasses.
However, the BBC soap yesterday denied it was anything more than a shadow from the hardman Londoner’s glasses.
An EastEnders spokeswoman said: “Danny does not have a black eye.”
It came as Danny’s wife Jo denied reports of a furious public bust-up between the pair in a department store.
It was claimed Danny was “bright red” and “reeked of booze” as he rowed with his missus in Selfridges. But Jo said: “This whole story is a load of rubbish.
“We had a lovely day and we are not going to let that be ruined by another fabricated story.”
And an EastEnders spokeswoman added: “Yet again there is absolutely no truth in any of these allegations.”
In fact, the new images of a happy and healthy Danny will come as a delight to soap bosses as they prepare to welcome him back. A source close to the show confirmed his return is “imminent” but would not give exact dates. His on-screen return is unlikely for at least six weeks after he starts filming again. His character Mick has still to temporarily bow out of Albert Square as fans speculate what his exit storyline will be. However, insiders say his refreshed appearance proves their decision to send him on a break was the right one. A source said: “Danny looks fantastic and really happy. We can’t wait to welcome him back.” The images are a world away from Danny’s troubled February. The star was reportedly boozing too much after his gruelling filming schedule caught up with him. And his detox was on full view as he carried a bottle of water out of the Essex petrol station.
