CELEB Big Brother star Linda Nolan has terminal cancer, her sister Coleen revealed yesterday.
Tearful Coleen, who also lost sister Bernie to the disease, revealed Linda has developed a secondary cancer on her hip.
CELEBRITY Big Brother star Linda Nolan has been told that her cancer has returned.
Doctors have said it is not curable but it is treatable.
And the brave Nolans singer, 58, has told friends she is “not dying of cancer but living with it”.
Linda, who appeared on the reality show three years ago, battled breast cancer in 2006 and had been clear of the disease after chemotherapy.
Yesterday her sister and Loose Women host Coleen revealed the news it had returned on the ITV show.
She said: “Maybe three weeks ago, Linda had an accident at home.
“She fell up the stairs. She actually broke her hip and went to hospital and while they did the scan of her hip they found secondary cancer.
“It was just earth-shattering for us initially.
“The positive thing is that although they’ve said it’s not curable, it’s treatable and it’s not spread anywhere else.”
The news has come as a big shock for the Irish family since their sister Bernie died of breast cancer aged 52 in 2013. But Coleen stressed that Linda’s position is different.
She added: “Obviously it’s going to be compared to Bernie but Linda wants to get it across she’s not dying of cancer she’s living with cancer.
“She could have years. We have to focus on that. That’s the positive attitude.
“Bernie’s was a completely different cancer and Bernie’s had spread.
“Linda’s hasn’t. Like Bernie, Linda’s so strong. She’s had her down days but she’s being really positive.
“The thing that broke my heart was Linda sent a text to the whole family and at the end of it she put: ‘I’m so sorry, I feel so guilty to put you all through this again.’ We’ll all fight as a family and we’ll all be there for her.”
