A CARE nurse killed herself after being threatened online.

Kayleigh Caesar, 28, who had mental health issues, was found hanged on Christmas Eve.

She had received malicious Facebook messages after helping police investigate an attack on a friend, an inquest heard.

Officers told Kayleigh to keep her phone on hand and get improved CCTV fitted at the pub – run by her mum – where she lived.

Close family friend Paul Robinson – the pal who was attacked – died two months after he was beaten up at her mum’s pub last August.

Kayleigh also suffered a bereavement in 2012 when she lost her baby, Oliver.

Det Sgt Daniel Barker told the inquest that Kayleigh said she received “upsetting” messages from people connected to last year’s assault case, which did not result in a prosecution.

Kayleigh was found dead in her room at The Dragoon pub in Maidstone, Kent.

Notes were discovered and there were no signs of third-party involvement.

A post-mortem found she had been drinking and had that day taken cocaine.

Kayleigh struggled with depression and drink and had previously attempted to take her own life, the Maidstone inquest heard.

A verdict of suicide was recorded by the coroner.

Kayleigh’s mother Clare Parslow said: “It is unbelievable how many people loved her and how many hearts are broken because she couldn’t carry on.

“The pressures of life can be cruel and a shining star of beauty and goodness has been extinguished.”
